SAUTER Vision Center 6.1: Universal building management – simple and equipped for the future

The latest generation of SAUTER Vision Center integrates additional visualisation and operation functions, and with its significantly simplified, state-of-the-art user interface, the HTML5-based management software remains very easy to use.

With its intuitive design and user-friendliness, the newest version 6.1 of the BACnet-certified SAUTER Vision Center building management software continues to impress. The software is suitable for all project sizes, can be expanded flexibly in line with customer requirements and project sizes at any time, and can be operated without any problems by users with no prior experience.

Optimised, simplified user interface

Everyone from service staff to facility and energy managers can easily customise the software’s user interface to their preferences and area of responsibility, and detailed real-time values can also be incorporated, as well as weather data via SAUTER Meteo Services, if required. The menus assigned to the individual duties give users a clear overview of the visualisation and operating functions that they need, which can be accessed with just a few clicks or touchscreen actions.

Informative energy management

With modules that can be added at any time, the solution supports plant operators efficiently when managing energy and maintenance. Users can display consumption values and KPIs in charts and dashboards. The different views can be organised and selected directly in navigation structures that can be defined in terms of building, energy and users.

Everything combined in one solution

The current version of SAUTER Vision Center brings together the operation of many other applications that were previously managed separately. Schedules in the management solution can now activate both BACnet and SAUTER novaNet devices simultaneously. Furthermore, special higher-level schedules allow applications to be controlled over multiple stations. SAUTER has also revised the handling of all supported schedules and adjusted them in line with user requests.

SAUTER Vision Center provides the highest level of flexibility as it supports BACnet, SAUTER novaNet and OPC-UA for connecting protocols such as M-Bus, ModBus and LON. Via OPC and API interfaces, even third-party non-HVAC systems such as fire protection, video monitoring and lift control, as well as industry-specific applications can be seamlessly connected to SAUTER Vision Center.

Step-by-step migration of existing SAUTER novaNet plants into the system is possible at low cost because previous generations of SAUTER automation stations are also supported. As the SAUTER building management solution also includes an OPC-UA server, all system and energy management data processed for all applications with a OPC-UA client can be used easily. Third-party applications can request information from SAUTER Vision Center and process it directly.

Streamlined processes for more efficiency

The modular combination of building, energy and maintenance management in one software package has many advantages. Because SAUTER Vision Center fully supports the HTML5 standard, it can be used with practically any internet browser, and hence independently of the operating system, be it Linux, Unix, iOS, Android or Windows. In contrast to many other solutions, it is not necessary to install additional apps or plug-ins.

The combination of previously stand-alone applications in one integral solution enables excellent operation and visualisation of building management systems. The software fits easily into a company’s process landscape and workflows, all to the benefit of the building’s users. The end result is satisfied users on all levels, leaner processes and more sustainable buildings characterised by optimised energy efficiency. »

SAUTER Head Office was the target of a cyber security incident on November 20, 2024. SAUTER’s IT department immediately activated, well defined, internal emergency plans. All IT systems were completely isolated and shut down to successfully prevent the attack from spreading. External cybersecurity experts and data forensics specialists then began to check all systems and restore them securely. This process is unfortunately time-consuming, but absolutely necessary to ensure that the cyber-attack does not continue at a later date.

The SAUTER websites have been affected by the emergency operation and are available again with immediate effect.

There are currently no concrete indications that our customers' infrastructures have been compromised in any way by SAUTER devices. It appears to be an opportunistic incident with no clearly recognisable long-term goals or systematic attacks. The situation does not currently suggest that there is a targeted, sustained threat to the affected systems.
